Through the process of drawing, painting and mixed media, I explore the landscapes that we construct around ourselves. These are often 'inner landscapes' subliminal, virtual, intellectual or imaginary. I am interested in these becaue they personalise our individual worlds.

Increasingly, many of us use 'tags' 'labels' and 'phrases' in the language we use and through the visual imagery we portray. The social exchanges we create and encounter are the realities we inhabit. Sometimes these 'landscapes' are fragile or aspirational, sometimes hugely comic. Often we look at ourselves through the people we hang out with too!

Through drawing, gouache and text, in particular, I like to play out these visual descriptors on paper, canvas or board. As a practising artist with experience in other fields, I like to question the solidity and intelligence of our chosen 'spaces'. Are they soothing us or celebrating our uniqueness?
